To give students a say in their education.
I am studying Biomedicine Bsc at Birkbeck school of natural sciences. I have a great passion for sciences, and love the way it interacts and helps us in our daily lives. I have always wanted to be a scientist since childhood, having the urge to contribute to life-saving research. I am a proud student here at Birkbeck. I understand how it may be very difficult for students to voice their difficulties and needs during their students. Bring Course Rep last year, really helps me understand students well enough. Here is my manifesto.
1. I ensure that I will give students a voice due to their studies.
2. Create safe spaces for students in the faculty to discuss any problems they have during their studies.
3. Free help with exam papers from senior/former students.
4. More work experience and to make sure everyone gets a compulsory internship(voluntary or unpaid) in the faculty, within the Uni.
5. Providing free essay workshops for academic writing.
6. Invite world class researchers at events for student events.
7. Socialisation events for students within the faculty for free and a Natural Sciences society.
8. Free mindfulness classes if you're suffering from burnout and someone to talk to.
9. Free Cv help and specialist career advice.
This is my manifesto and I will ensure and collaborate with faculty staff to make sure everyone is provided with an equal opportunity.
