Palestinian Student Scholarships & expansion of the Sanctuary Program Over the last 9 months we have witnessed the destruction of essentially the entire educational infrastructure of Gaza; this includes all 12 universities, 80% of schools, and with an incomprehensible 5800 students & teachers losing their lives to date. The Student Union should demand - The Birkbeck Sanctuary Program be expanded using dedicated funds to develop a specific program of sponsorship for Palestinian Students. That Birkbeck build on existing and develop new partnerships with Palestinian universities, develop long term academic exchange, and support the rebuilding of Gazan academic life.
